Jamie's Kitchen Garden Project

At the start of Spring Term 2014, Broadhempston School was chosen to be one of just 13 schools in the whole of the UK to participate in a pilot for a new initiative run by TV chef Jamie Oliver called the Kitchen Garden Project. Now, children in all 3 classes are participating in weekly cooking lessons and learning all about food: how it is grown, how to prepare and cook ingredients, and trying lots of new things.

In February 2014, four children from Year 5/6 gave a talk all about their involvement in a Rotary Club "Speak Out" competition. You can see a recording of their talk below

School Council Video

Our School Council were tasked with making a video to help tell people about our school. The children had their own ideas of what should be in the video, which they then turned into a plan and finally they recorded their own links over the course of a couple of weeks. With the support of one of our parents - Mr Mustafa - everything was filmed and edited to produce the finished video (below).
