On the 22nd of February 2016 Broadhempston Primary , the A and the B team went to the South Dartmoor hockey tournament. In the B team there was me, Caleb, Ben, Mia, Leo V, Sola, Drew, Freddie and Jago J.
Our first match was against Chudleigh, Freddie scored the goal and the match ended 1 all. Personally I thought they had 2 experienced players and the rest looked like they didn't know what they were doing!
Our second match was against Trinity they were very experienced players we lost 4 to 1. Their up front was charging towards our goal the problem was that no one was defending it! Because our defence were up by the mid fielders. I personally think that we learnt a lesson from that match that our defence should stay back when the ball is by the goal.
Our third match was against Decoy we drew 1 all and Drew scored that goal which meant, so far we've lost 1 and drew 2.
Finally was the play off for the 5th and 6th place we were against Dartington we lost 2-0.
Last of all was the presentation the A team came 1st and the B team came 6th.
Sadly one of our players got badly injured and had to go to hospital for a check up. He was accidently hit on the head by someone's hockey stick while he was watching another game. Unfortunately he had to stay of school for a while.
Overall I think player of the day would be Caleb because he worked hard all the time that he was playing. Personally I really enjoyed myself and would like to do it again.

On the 22nd February 2016, Broadhempston School, year 3,4,5,and 6 went to South Dartmoor School for a hockey tournament.
When we arrived at the school, the car park was very busy, eventually we parked and made our way to the astro turf.
I was the Team Captain of 'A Team', and in my team were, Leo T, Archie, Ami, Perdi, Jack and Ellsa. We started off by having a lap around the pitch to warm up.
Our first match was against Dartington. We won 1-0.
We then had a 2 match rest.
Next we played Canada Hill and we won 1-0. Then another match off, during this time we supported the Broadhempston B Team. Finally we had the last group match, it was Shaldon, we beat them a terrific 3-0.
We were in the final against Trinity.
In this match I started off on the bench, I was supposed to go on at halfway through the match, but Archie didn't want to come off. When he did eventually come off I went straight on and scored a goal! We had won the match!
We were all celebrating because that meant we had won the tournament!
Overall it was a fun day and I am looking forward to playing the other teams in the county.
