School Meals September 19

From September 2019 we will be providing cooked school meals for our children.  The meals will be cooked in-house at the newly refurbished kitchen at Landscove school, Linda Wilson the newly appointed Kitchen Manager has created an exciting new menu which will provide our children with an excellent range of nutrients for their wellbeing.  The meals will be cooked from scratch which will ensure that they will be packed with healthy ingredients such as fruit, vegetables, wholegrains and pulses. Jacket potatoes with a choice of Beans, Tuna or Cheese will be available daily as will Fresh Fruit, Wholemeal Bread, Salad, Yoghurt and Water. .  We are sure that you and your children will enjoy choosing dishes from this exciting menu.

We will be serving lunch in the village hall which we feel will greatly enhance the school day for pupils and improve provision over the lunchtime period.

If your child  would like school meals next term, please submit your order via the following link -

If you are unable to do this please contact the school office admin@broadhempstonschool.com or 01803 812689.

All other arrangements will remain as before - meal orders will need to be made in advance and amendments after Thursday for the following week will not be accepted.  This will not apply to unexpected absence or illness.  If your child is ill you will need to let us know before 9.30am in the morning to enable us to cancel the lunch order.

We will be able to make small amendments to the menu for medical reasons, but will need to see medical evidence of this beforehand.

The price of the meals will remain at £2.70 and payment should be made through parent-pay in advance as at present.  All children in EYFS and KS1 will continue to receive meals via the Universal Infant Free School Meal arrangements.

If you feel that you are eligible to claim for free school meals please follow the following link to claim -

http://www.devon.gov.uk/j4s-freeschoolmeals-promoflyer.pdf.

Even if your child is eligible under the Universal Infant Free School Meals Scheme it is still important to claim as our school will receive additional funding if your claim is accepted.

We are sure this new arrangement will work well and we are looking forward to being able to provide this exciting menu to the children.

If you have any queries please contact Mrs Carwithen in the school office.

Thank you for your support.
