Broadhempston Village Primary School

Friday 2nd March 2018 - Severe Weather

Dear Parents/Carers,

We have been following the weather reports very carefully to help us make a decision about school closure for tomorrow. As you are aware we are in the unprecedented position of having a red weather warning for snow covering our school overnight. It is difficult to predict what Devon will look like when we wake up in the morning but based on all the information we are receiving from the relevant authorities, we are extremely concerned about the hazardous travel conditions that our children, young people, families and staff could face in the morning.

We simply cannot predict with enough accuracy when roads are likely to be safe for travel and whilst we appreciate that school closures are disruptive to our families and the wider community, we are going to heed the warnings we are being given and close Broadhempston Village Primary school tomorrow (Friday 2nd March 2018).

Yours faithfully

Dan Turner
